join us for a Chocolate Extravaganza at Majik House
in aid of Macmillan’s
‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’
The staff at Majik House have never been the type to shy away from cake! So for the 3rd consecutive year we will be slipping into our pinnys and dusting off our Mary Berry cookbooks and get baking!
The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event for people facing cancer. Macmillan invite people all over the UK to host their own coffee mornings and donations on the day are made to Macmillan.
In 2016, £27.5 million was raised from the initiative and this year Macmillan are aiming to raise even more.
The first ever Coffee Morning happened way back in 1990. It was a rather small affair with a simple idea: guests would gather over coffee and donate the cost of their cuppa to Macmillan in the process. It was so effective, they did it again the next year – only this time nationally. Since then, Coffee Morning has raised over £138 million for the Macmillan charity.
It’s a devastating fact that there are 2.5 million people living in the UK fighting cancer. Everyone here at the Majik House has been touched by this terrible disease, so now we’re supporting one of the UK’s largest fundraising and awareness campaigns.
Last year we managed to raise over £200 for the great cause. So, why not join us on Friday 29th September for a brew and a slice of cake!
We look forward to seeing you…
