In the UK, bespoke home cinemas have become something of an obsession with homeowners having their own cinema high on their wish list.
Majik House have been creating amazing home cinema rooms of all shapes, sizes and specifications since 1998 and provide a complete home cinema service from initial consultation and design to installation and project management.
The common thread throughout all our home cinema projects is our aim is it to be completely immersive, somewhere you can escape to and enjoy your favourite movie or latest Hollywood blockbuster in a space where the audio-visual experience encompasses you. We believe the signature of a great cinema is that the boundary between reality and fantasy merge, where sound and vision draw you in so completely.
We’ll always start a new home cinema project by listening to you, by understanding what you desire, before embarking on designing the space of your dreams which will soon become an incredible reality.
That said, you may not know what you want to achieve from your cinema room, and that’s perfectly fine – with over 20-years’ experience in designing and installing home cinema rooms and the systems that support them, the Majik House team are always happy to offer guidance and options that you may not have considered.
So, what makes a great home cinema room?
There’s so much more to a beautiful home cinema than meets the eye but seeing is believing, and the image quality from one of the latest 4K UHD projectors is simply stunning.
The size of your space will determine the size of your screen and also where we position the projector – not everyone wants this on display, so you’ll want to consider a projector lift to smoothly reveal from the ceiling.
For your listening pleasure there are speakers and sub-woofers which can be free standing in plain sight, recessed or completely plastered-over into walls and ceilings, as well as positioned behind the acoustically transparent screen and behind where you sit – this isn’t just surround sound, this is fully immersive Dolby Atmos sound!
What else is there to consider?
Beyond the sound and vision, lighting design and lighting control is key and should complement the investment in your cinema room. Also think about how you are going to operate everything: there’s no way you will be happy with a handful of remote controls cluttering-up your room, so having just a single Control4 remote that will operate everything is what we’ll always recommend.
Then there’s the seating – of course you want to be comfortable and we can include the luxurious cinema room seating that takes comfort to a completely different level!
An investment for today, and for the future
A new home cinema room is an investment that we guarantee will significantly enhance your property, will add value to your home and, most importantly, is one which will provide countless hours of pleasure for you, your family and friends.
For some clients, a home cinema project is undertaken alongside whole house smart home automation but, for most people, they commission Majik House to create their bespoke home cinema room as a project in it’s own right.
Majik House are privileged to work with private clients across Cumbria and the Lake District, in Lancashire, Manchester, Cheshire and further afield in the UK. Some have sizeable budgets, whilst others are more modest, but we will always extend the same care and levels of attention to detail to everyone.

“I couldn’t be happier with the service I received from the Majik House. In my experience, it is rare to come across a company who deliver such a high level of service. I won’t need to consider who I should use for future projects; it will be the Majik House without question.”
