If you’re considering working with Majik House, you probably have a few questions, and that’s exactly where to start.
We’ve brought together answers to the things we’re most often asked, giving you a clearer picture of what to expect and how we can help bring your project to life.
Whether you’re exploring ideas or ready to get started, these FAQs cover key things you may want to know as you start your journey towards a beautifully integrated home.
Founded in 1998 by Tim and Carol Burrow, Majik House is one of the UK’s longest-established smart home specialists.
With over 25 years of experience, we’ve built an extensive portfolio from individual cinema rooms to fully integrated smart homes, all designed and delivered by our expert in-house team.
Majik House is based in the North West of England, with projects spanning from the Scottish borders down to Cheshire.
Our core areas include Cumbria and the Lake District, Lancashire and the Fylde Coast, the Yorkshire Dales, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Cheshire and Derbyshire.
We also regularly undertake projects in the North East, including County Durham, Northumberland and Newcastle, as well as the Isle of Man.
For international clients, we can provide remote design and consultancy services.
Every Majik House project is entirely bespoke, which means no two systems – or budgets – are ever the same.
The best place to start is a conversation. Once we understand your home, your lifestyle and your ambitions, we can provide clear, indicative costings to help guide your decisions.
It’s a question we’re often asked and there’s no exact answer as the investment in a dedicated cinema or media room depends on both the technology and the interior finish.
We typically recommend a budget of around £20,000 for a well-balanced system in a standard room. For larger, high-performance cinemas, this can exceed £200,000.
The room design and fit-out – including acoustic treatments, wall finishes, seating, lighting and cabinetry – can range from £10,000 to £100,000+, depending on size, specification and level of luxury.
We don’t set a minimum or maximum size for a project. Whether it’s a single room upgrade , a stand-alone cinema or a fully automated home, every project receives the same level of care, attention and expertise.
Majik House provides a complete, turn-key, whole-home solution. Our services include:
We design and install for single rooms and for every room and beyond, including lighting and audio for your outdoor spaces.

As early as possible.
Early involvement allows us to shape the infrastructure, explore opportunities and ensure everything is considered from the outset, resulting in a smoother, more successful project.
Not at all. Every system we design is tailored to you: intuitive, simple and aligned with how you live. Whether it’s a handheld remote, a smartphone or elegant wall controls, everything is chosen with usability in mind.
Both work hand in hand.
Thoughtful lighting design enhances your home’s architecture, interiors and atmosphere. A smart lighting control system then allows you to effortlessly adjust scenes, improve energy efficiency and enhance security.
Blinds and shading can also be integrated, giving you complete control over natural light and privacy throughout the day.
From our experience working alongside architects and developers, the greatest value comes from:
Enhanced features such as advanced lighting control, cinema rooms and integrated media systems can further elevate a property’s value.

We hope these answers have been helpful. If you’re considering a smart home or home cinema project, we’d be delighted to explore the possibilities with you.
We look forward to hearing from you.
