Here at Majik House we are all massive movie fans! And are always searching for the new best releases to watch on one of our home cinemas.

We have a monster hit for each month of the year, diaries at the ready! Get your favourite blockbuster films 2020 booked in.

JANUARY – DoLittle

Dr Dolittle - Blockbuster Films 2020

After hanging up his Iron Man suit for the final time, Robert Downey Jr brings us a family friendly adaptation of everyone’s favourite animal linguist. The adaptation is far removed from the previous interpretation of the character by Eddie Murphy. The plot sees the famed Dr as a recluse living behind the walls of Dolittle Manor, with only his animals for company. But when Queen Victoria falls gravely ill, a reluctant Dolittle is forced to set sail on an epic adventure to a mythical island in search of a cure.

FEBRUARY – Birds of Prey

Birds of Prey

Margo Robbie reprises her role as Harlequin in this all action thriller, a spin-off from 2016 Suicide Squad. The plot sees a narcissistic crime lord known as Black Mask, place a hit on a young girl named Cassandra Cain. Gotham City then turns upside down looking for her. Harley joins forces with Black Canary, Helena Bertinelli, and Renee Montoya to protect the girl.


MARCH – Mulan

Mulan

A year in cinema wouldn’t be complete without a Disney live action remake. Following in the footsteps of the highly successful Lion King and Jungle Book. The next visual spectacle is Mulan, originally released in 1998. The story follows a young Chinese maiden, who disguises herself as a male warrior in order to save her father.


APRIL – No Time to Die

No Time to Die

No Time to Die is the 25th instalment in the 007 franchise and is Danial Craig’s final outing as Bond. The premise of the film sees Bond having left active service. As he is approached by Felix Leiter, his friend and a CIA officer. Who enlists his help in the search for a missing scientist. When it becomes apparent that the scientist was abducted. Bond must confront a danger the likes of which the world has never seen before.


MAY – Black Widow

Black Widow

Following her heroic departure in Avengers Endgame ‘Black Widow’ focuses on the origin story of the Avengers most deadly assassin, Black Widow. Scarlet Johansson stars alongside David Harbour and Rachel Weisz. So far it has been reported that the film will ‘fill in the blanks’ when it comes to Black Widows mysterious past.


JUNE – Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman

The second instalment of DC’s Wonder Woman come’s to cinemas this summer after the highly successful first film, grossing over £800m worldwide. Gal Gadot stars as the Amazonian Princess Diana, in a heroic battle of good Vs evil. The majority of the film was shot in London, however the details of the film are still tightly under wraps.

 


JULY – Top Gun

Top Gun

Hollywood’s most famous stunt man is back in the pilot seat for Top Gun Maverick. It’s been over 30 years since we have taken to the skies with the U.S top Navy Aviator. The plot for the film has been kept tightly under wraps to keep fans guessing. Directed by Joseph Kosinski who has worked with Tom Cruise previously on Oblivion, and written by Jim Cash who developed the original screen play back in 1986


AUGUST – Bill & Ted Face the Music

Bill & Ted Face the Music

August sees the highly anticipated return of Bill and Ted on another excellent adventure! Once told they’d save the universe during a time-traveling adventure. The two would-be rockers from California now find themselves as middle-aged dads still trying to crank out a hit song and fulfil their destiny. The film has the same two writers that scripted the original hit back in 1989, so fans can be reassured that the next instalment is in safe hands.


SEPTEMBER – The Kings Man

The Kings Man

Starting Ralph Fiennes as the Duke of Oxford, The Kings Man tells the origin story of the elite secret society. The film is a prequel to the Kingsman series, which is loosely based on the comic book of the same name. What do we know of the plot so far? According to IMDB “a collection of history’s worst tyrants and criminal masterminds gather to plot a war to wipe out millions. one man and his protégé must race against time to stop them.”


OCTOBER – Venom 2

Tom Hardy stars as everyone’s favourite antihero, Venom, in this highly anticipated return. Fans of the marvel comic series will have certainly seen the rumours flying around the web that the film will see another marvel crossover with an appearance from Spiderman. The plot of the film has been tightly guarded. However, with Andy Serkis (of Gollum fame) taking the directors seat, we can be sure to see a very different take on this popular franchise.


NOVEMBER – Eternals

Eternals

The 3rd on our list for Marvel Studios, Eternals is a story told over 7000 years. the Eternals, an immortal alien race created by the Celestials, protect humanity from their evil counterparts. With a stellar line-up including, Angelia Jolie, Richard Madden, Salma Hayek and Kit Harington taking on the sci-fi adventure. Can the studio recreate the magic they achieved with The Avengers? We will have to wait until November to find out!


DECEMBER – West Side Story

West Side Story

Steven Spielberg sprinkles his directorial magic on the ultimate love story, set to the backdrop of 1950’s New York. Dominated by gang rivalry, West side story is a narrative that has captured audiences’ imaginations for decades. It has been reported that the remake will stay truer to the original Broadway production than the 1961 original. Complete with all original musical numbers.
