Majik House primarily covers the North West of England, from the Scottish borders down to Cheshire, an area which includes:

We have also undertaken projects in the North East (County Durham, Northumberland and Newcastle) and the Isle of Man, and have also worked remotely providing detailed designs and installation plans for projects all over the world for some of our international clients.
How much will my home automation project cost?
Each project Majik House undertake is unique and truly bespoke in the design and installation, therefore the costings for any two projects will never be the same. If you want to get in touch then we can start a conversation to find out a little more about your home and requirements, from where we can start to provide some indicative costings for you to consider.
What will a dedicated bespoke home cinema room cost?
Again, as each cinema or media room is unique in size, shape and specification then so this will be reflected in the price. Remember that a cinema or media room project typically falls into to areas: the audiovisual equipment and the room design / fit-out.
For the audiovisual equipment, we recommend £20,000 in a normal size room as a starting point for good picture and sound quality. This can reach upwards of £250,000 for much larger cinema rooms where the very best audio visual performance.
With regards to the room fit-out, the cost to create a bespoke interior with upholstered or fabric lined walls hiding room acoustic treatments and speakers, custom cinema seating, lighting and cabinetry work can vary from £10,000 to over £100,000 depending on quality of finish, number of seats and room size.

Majik House was founded in 1998 by our directors, Tim and Carol Burrow so this year, 2023, we are celebrating our 25th birthday! Majik House are one of the longest established smart home technology companies in the UK and can boast an impressive portfolio of projects – from stand-alone home cinemas to whole home installations – designed and installed by some of the country’s leading home automation experts.
How big does my home cinema or smart home project need to be?
Majik House provide expert design and installation for a wide range of properties; nothing is too big or too small. Whether it’s a single room solution to full house automation, we extend the same level of care and attention to all our clients.

What technology brands to Majik House work with?
Being truly independent, we are not tied to any specific brands or manufacturers, and instead we work with products and equipment that we ourselves have throughly tested and appraised to ensure their performance, suitability, and reliability.
These brands include, but are not limited to Control4 (best in class smart home control), Lutron (lighting control, blinds and shades), with hi-fi, cinema and architectural speakers by Monitor Audio, Velodyne, Amina and Sonance. We also work with brands you may be more familiar with, including SONY, Samsung, LG and SONOS.
Tell me more about the design and installation process?
First we listen, then we create! Of course there are various stages in-between such as site visits, liaising with your architect or interior designer, creating and agreeing specifications, working with your other contractors and planning schedules; whatever is needed, we’re with you every step of the way. What guarantees do you provide with the systems/product you install?
All of the products we install in your property come with at least a 2-year manufacture guarantee. We thoroughly test every product (either in one of our showrooms or at home) before we incorporate into a design and install. Our expert team will only ever install equipment that we believe is the most reliable on the market, where the manufacturer provides excellent support, and is the most suitable for your project.
When should we ask Majik House to get involved in our project?
Whether you are embarking on a new build or conversion, re-modelling or whole house renovation, or just looking at a new cinema room, the sooner you can talk to us the better.
Being involved at an early stage means we can talk you through options and approaches that may not have already been considered. It’s a simple fact that projects run better when we are involved from the outset.
How complicated is it to use your smart home systems?
It is a misconception that you need to be a technophile to use the smart home systems that Majik House install. Likewise, nor should it be considered that a smart home is purely something for younger home owners who may be more familiar with the latest tech gadgets.
Every system Majik House design and install is created with the user in mind: this means you and your family. Whether it’s the choice of remote control and your preferred mobile device, or the keypads and switches on the wall, everything is chosen in-line with your preferences.
Lighting designer or a lighting control system – which will be the most beneficial?
The answer is both.
Good lighting design makes the most of any home and will help to highlight any architectural features, colour schemes, furniture and artwork, and provides the ideal mood for each room.
A smart lighting control system affords ‘scene changes’ for the whole house or individual rooms, typically with easy control from your phone or tablet or by elegant wall controls.
We are all conscious of the cost of energy, and a smart lighting control system will also save on your electricity usage. It will also integrate with your core smart home control system to increase the security of your home.
Remember that lighting design and lighting control also includes shades and blinds, something which can make the most of natural light throughout the day and afford privacy, again all of which can be controlled effortlessly.
What smart home systems will add the greatest value to my property?
Over the 25 years since we established Majik House, we have worked with many architects, property developers and builders and, as a general rule of thumb, they consider future-proofing a property with its wiring and a robust network, well designed lighting design and a quality security system is where to add tangible value to a home.
More advanced lighting control systems, media rooms and home cinemas, plus further enhanced security and access systems, will typically add to the asking price a higher value property.
Can you install our network system?
Providing secure and reliable network systems is the backbone to everything we do at Majik House. Think of your internal network as the central nervous system of your home – when your network operates correctly, everything performs perfectly, so you’ll find that we give as much consideration to this invisible ‘workhorse’ of your home as the lighting and audio-visual elements that you live with every day.
Can you solve system problems remotely?
For the majority of issues that may arise with your system (such as software updates or un-planned power outages) one of our expert engineers can login to your property remotely and fix the problem. For any problems that can’t be resolved in this way, one of our engineers can visit your home to solve the issue.
Do you offer a support service when the project is complete?
From the date we complete your project, Majik House offer all clients one full year of support for free. Going forward, we offer a range of support plans with options from which you can choose – our project managers will help advise on the best plan for you and your system. Can I come and visit the Majik House showroom?
At present, the answer is unfortunately no… we recently relocated from our previous premises near Kirkby Lonsdale to a new site at Gatebeck near Kendal, however this means that we are starting our new showroom from scratch and we are aiming to be ready in mid-Summer 2023.
