Majik House Shortlisted for National Award

The accolades just keep coming for the ‘Luxury Super Home’ project in Lancashire as we received notification this week that Majik House has been shortlisted for the Best Use of Smart Technology at the 2023 British Homes Awards.

The British Homes Awards celebrates exceptional design and attracts entries from property developers, architects, housing associations and interior designers across the UK.

As the name suggests, the Best Use of Smart Technology award goes to the best use of technology in design and installation within a home and should demonstrate effective integration and control of multiple technologies.

This includes AV systems, energy management, lighting design and control, security and networking. A requirement is that any project also demonstrates “easy, intuitive use by the homeowner and how the technology enhances the living experience in the building.”

Jit Mistry is the Majik House Sales Director and headed-up this project from initial consultation through to final commissioning and hand-over: “Hearing that we have been shortlisted for another prestigious award did come as quite a surprise.”

“We all know how special the property is and, although we have already won a Northern Design Award for the same project, the BHA is a national award and we knew we’d be up against strong competition from across the country.”

And so it appears to be the case, with Majik House up against a project in Islington, London,  and another near Tunbridge Wells in Kent.

“Across all award categories, a consistent theme is that the judges will be considering design and innovation as part of their criteria.” continues Jit, “They want to see how we have taken on-board the vision of the architect and the wishes of our client and, working with trusted project partners, delivered what the judges will ultimately determine to be an award winning submission.”

There are a few months of anticipation ahead of the BHA awards ceremony, this year taking place in the quite exceptional setting of Raffles London at The OWO.

“We’re planning to be there in person at the awards and, regardless of the end result, we know what an exceptional project this has been and, once again, we extend our thanks to both the client and Ben Jurin Architecture for appointing Majik House to deliver their vision.”
