Hat-Trick of Award Wins for Luxury Super Home Project

The last twelve months seem to have passed in the blink of an eye and it feels like only yesterday that we completed work on the stunning luxury property in Lytham, Lancashire.

And it’s this project that has now accrued its second and third prestigious accolades after winning Best Whole Home Integration at the Smart Building Awards and scooping Best Use of Home Technology category at the British Home Awards.

Autumn Burrow is the Operations Manager at Majik House: “This property was such a great project for Majik House to work on, a real statement property and quite unlike anything in the surrounding area.”

“Even today, just over a year since completion, it’s a project which our engineers still look back on fondly and one which has captured the imagination of anyone who has seen it on our website or social media.”

To recap, the first award Majik House received for this project was in November 2022 when they brought home the honours in the Best Smart Home category at the Northern Design Awards.

“Winning at the Northern Design Awards really elevated our profile amongst architects and interior designers across the north of England with a lot of interest in how Majik House can work with them on their own commissions.”

The next award for the project came in September from within the custom install industry – after a good degree of prompting and cajoling from others in the UK’s smart home sector, the project was entered into Essential Install magazine’s Smart Building Awards.

“Essential Install is the leading publication for the smart home industry in the UK and their annual awards and, as you’d expect, the awards recognise the best technology and equipment launched over the past year as well as stand-out projects.”

“To win the Best Whole Home Integration award feels like a real ‘feather in our cap’, and we’re all super proud for this acknowledgment from within the custom install sector.”

The criteria for the award looked at how Majik House factored-in our customer’s brief into the design and delivery of the project, and what challenges the engineers had to overcome during installation.

“Customer feedback was also a contributing factor and we’d received glowing testimonials from both South Lodge’s owner and the architect, both of which undoubtedly helped support our entry.”

“Unfortunately, due to prior commitments, we weren’t able to attend the award ceremony ourselves but there was still plenty of celebrating when word came through that we’d won.”

Skip forward a few weeks into October and the British Homes Awards held at The Raffles at the OWO in London. Majik House were shortlisted alongside a project in Islington, London, and another near Tunbridge Wells in Kent, but it was the Lytham Super Home that hit the spot with the judges to win the Best Use of Home Technology prize.

Jit Mistry, Sales Director at Majik House: “A few of us from Majik House were able to make the trip to London for the BHAs and were feeling quietly confident, even against the other two projects which looked exceptionally good.”

“It was still a bit surreal when they announced we’d won and even when I went up to receive the award it hadn’t really sunk in.”

“This is undeniably a stunning property and once again we’d like to thank Ben Jurin Architecture for commissioning us for the project, and also to the guys at Opus Electrical who we worked with closely throughout.”

There was, however, one final award that the project was in contention for but, on this occasion, missing out first place.

The CEDIA (Custom Electronics Design and Installation Association) Smart Home Awards recognise the best projects, products and people in the professional smart home industry, celebrating the best in class work from across the world.

The project was entered in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region in the Luxury or Ultra Luxury Integrated Home category, perhaps the most prestigious and hotly contested of all CEDIA’s awards.

At another glittering event in central London it was a project in the Middle East which was the star of the show, winning both the Luxury Integrated Home award along with another five awards on the night.

Tim Burrow, MD and Founder of Majik House: “Missing out on the CEDIA award was obviously a disappointment but, conversely, it was also proof that Majik House’s work can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with that of the very best smart home technology businesses around the world.”

“The winning project was undeniably worthy of the award and accolades, it was simply stunning, but that just gives us something to aim towards in the years to come.”
