Control4 Pinnacle Award for Majik House
At a prestigious event in Barcelona in January, Majik House were recipients of a Lifetime Achievement award at the Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) Show 2023.
The annual ISE event was held at the stunning Gran Via Venue at Fira Barcelona, and welcomed many of the leading technology brands showcasing their latest technologies to custom AV designers, installers, architects and property developers from across the globe.
At the award event, organised by SnapOne™ – the parent company of leading smart home brand Control4 – Majik House were represented by Jit Mistry (Sales Director), Autumn Burrow (Operations Manager), Zac Antony and Ryan Ferguson (Installation Engineers).
Autumn tells us more: “It was quite unlike most award events, or at least it was for Majik House, in that we were asked to attend because we were going to receive an award. This felt a little strange as we hadn’t entered any of the award categories.”
“When we asked for a little more information, the reply was quite mysterious and secretive, but also very insistent that we attend. Even on the night of the event itself, we were still kept in the dark and unsure why we were there, let alone what award we were going to receive.”
The mystery was eventually revealed when Majik House were announced as being recipients of a Pinnacle Lifetime Achievement Award, a recognition for over two decades in business, our many incredible smart home installations and, specifically, for the innovative use and incorporation of Control4 control systems.
“It was a wonderful surprise for us and it feels very timely, given that we are coming up to 25 years since Majik House was established.”
“It did also feel a little strange to get a lifetime achievement award from an organisation that itself is younger than Majik House – SnapOne™ was founded in 2005, with Control4 launched a couple of years later.”
Even though Control4 is the first choice control technology for the majority of Majik House projects, it wasn’t an immediate case of ‘love at first sight’ when the brand first launched:
“At the time of Control4 being introduced to the industry we were already using a couple of long-established control systems to great effect and although we were impressed by the promise of greater control and the ‘simple single solution’ approach to remotes and touchscreens, we didn’t rush to adopt this new technology.”
“This was very much a conscious decision, and our stance was that we wanted to allow time for Control4 to mature, and to ‘bed-in’, and for us to be 100% certain it was at the right stage of development before we would use it ourself. And by that, I mean that we installed it in our own home and used it every day for around 6-months before we even considered it for a client project.”
“We eventually started using Control4 in 2008 and although much has changed in the years since with rival systems entering the market, Control4 has become something of a world leader in the custom install industry and continues to be the first choice for us at Majik House.”
