Commissioning a smart home system, or a fully integrated AV system or that dream home cinema typically reflects a significant investment and, given there will inevitably be a degree of disruption at home whilst the installation is taking place, quite an emotional investment as well.

When we finish commissioning the system and hand-over to you, we want you to be delighted with the result, and equally as happy in the years ahead, and we have many long-standing clients who regularly provide testament for our work.

Unfortunately, not all installations are Majik House installations, and the simple fact is that not everyone has the same positive experience with their chosen custom AV installation company.

The fact stands ever since Majik House was established in 1998, we have received enquiries and ‘calls for help’ from homeowners who have a system has started failing, or not working as promised or, worse still, simply isn’t working at all.

Not a Majik House, system, we hasten to add, but the work of another custom install company.

Our place is not to identify these companies and, it has to be said, there are also some excellent smart home installers across the UK, but the need to offer a rescue service has arisen from the numerous requests for support over the past 25 years.

WHAT IS THE MAJIK HOUSE RESCUE SERVICE?

Firstly, it’s OK to get in touch and make an initial enquiry; as you would expect, we’ll ask for some details about your home, your system and any guarantees or warranties to get a better understanding of where you stand. We won’t charge for this, it is simply so that we can get a high-level view of the situation.

If you’d prefer, we have created a document which we’ll ask you to complete and which covers the questions we’ll ask, giving you chance to provide us with a little more detail.

From here, we will provide an initial quotation and recommendations for anticipated work and possibly arrange a visit to your home by one of our team.


WHAT WILL IT COST TO RESCUE MY SYSTEM?

This is something that we simply don’t know until we’ve had chance to properly assess the situation. What we can say is that we will be perfectly honest and open with you at all times, providing transparent fees for the solutions we recommend.

Should you decide not to proceed with Majik House, then that is absolutely fine, and we will always respect your decision.


AT WHAT POINT DO I PAY FOR YOUR SERVICES?

The initial review, consultation and estimate of fees is something we provide without charge. Site visits may be chargeable; however, we will advise of this in advance and ask for your approval before arranging an engineer to visit your property.

If it is necessary to create a technical specification document and plan of works, this will be deemed a chargeable piece of work. The reason for this is that this document is something that can, should you wish, be used by another specialist installation company to inform their work.


WHAT DO I GET FROM THE MAJIK HOUSE RESCUE SERVICE?

Honesty – we will be perfectly open and honest with you at all times; if we do not think we can help, we will let you know as soon as possible and before any fees are incurred.

Transparency – no hidden fees, no selling you something that you simply don’t need. If the equipment you have in place is suitable then we will always endeavour to work to ensure its optimum performance.

Replacements – if we believe the wrong equipment has been specified and is not suitable for the task, we will recommend appropriate alternatives. Again, we will be crystal clear in terms of:

  • Why the existing equipment is not suitable;
  • What equipment we recommend, and why;
  • The price of new equipment;
  • The fees involved in installation / set-up;
  • What performance you can expect from the new equipment, and;
  • What guarantees or warranties are included.

In addition to the warranties and guarantees you’d expect from equipment manufacturers, and our standard 12-month support for new commissions, Majik House also offer a suite of support packages designed to ensure your system is always operating at its best, with regular software updates and ‘health checks’ conducted either at your home or remotely.


It is our sincere wish that you never need to contact us regarding a ‘rescue mission’ as this would mean that something has broken down – either the equipment, or the network, or the relationship with your custom installer.

But what we can assure you is that Majik House are here to help if needed, and if we can, and will do everything we can to get your smart home system working as it should, today and for the years ahead.
